The scorer of the 2014 World Cup winning goal joins PSV Eindhoven
German attacking midfielder Mario Gotze, the 2014 World Cup final champion, signed a two-year contract with Eindhoven, after his former club Borussia Dortmund allowed him to leave.
Gotze, who scored Germany's only winning goal in overtime against Argentina in the 2014 World Cup Final in Brazil, had only played five matches for Dortmund in the German league last season.
Borussia Dortmund decided not to renew the contract with Gotze, 28, and thus became a free contract player, enabling him to sign after the transfer window closed, and after his negotiations with Hertha Berlin reached a dead end.
The attacking midfielder started his career at Borussia Dortmund and moved to Bayern Munich in 2013, but was allowed to return to Dortmund after three seasons.
Gotze played his last 63rd international match in 2017, when Germany drew 2-2 in a friendly with France in Cologne.
