The French Hatem Ben Arfa signed up with the Girondins de Bordeaux club on Wednesday evening.

The former Lyon and Parisian playmaker, aged 33, is the only recruit of the Aquitaine formation in this transfer window.

A new club for one of the most atypical players in French football.

Hatem Ben Arfa, free since his departure from Valladolid, has signed up for a season, with another optional, with Bordeaux, his sixth L1 club, the Girondins announced on Wednesday.

Complicated last season

The 33-year-old attacking midfielder has had a tough last season.

Without activity for six months following his departure from Rennes in June 2019, the international with 15 caps had tried to bounce back last winter in Valladolid, playing five matches, the last on July 7 against Valencia.
