New world champion Julian Alaphilippe won the Flèche Brabançonne, his first victory with the rainbow jersey, on Wednesday in Overijse, Belgium.

The French puncher sprinted his two breakaway companions, Mathieu van der Poel and Benoît Cosnefroy, three days after his immense disillusionment in Liège-Bastogne-Liège, where "Alaf" was guilty of a too early celebration and a gap.
