The photo-finish has never been so precious (and so beautiful) as after this fourth stage of the Giro.

This Tuesday, on the occasion of the first finish in the sprint, the French champion Arnaud Démare won the bet extremely narrowly in Villafranca Tirrena, in Sicily, ahead of Peter Sagan and the Italian Davide Ballerini.

In the sprint, Démare was able to climb

Sagan at the end of the 140 kilometers of the stage, the shortest of the race off against the clock.

The Swiss Simon Pellaud, who left his two breakaway companions (Frapporti, Gradek) behind before the summit of a pass located near the halfway point, opened the road up to 25 kilometers from the finish.

Peter Sagan's team pushed up the pace in the day's main climb to outrun the sprinters but Démare, whose team later worked with Bora-Hansgrohe, managed to keep in touch.

This is the second victory in two years for the French on the Giro, he who now has 72 career victories.

Solid.
