"No words".

The right-back Joakim Maehle reacted on Tuesday morning to his aborted transfer to Olympique de Marseille in the last minutes of the transfer window, explaining on Twitter that he “did not have the words”.

The 23-year-old Danish defender was strongly expected from OM to compensate for the departure of Bouna Sarr to Bayern Munich, against 10 million euros, a transfer formalized on Monday.

But the negotiations between OM and Genk got complicated in the last minutes of the transfer window.

While they were around 2 million for a paying loan, with 8 million euros for the option to buy, the Belgian club would have raised the stakes to 15 million in the evening, as explained RMC.

Too large a sum for Pablo Longoria and Jacques-Henri Eyraud, who will have to fall back on the recruitment of a "joker" in Ligue 1 or in Ligue 2.
