The 19-year-old Pole, who held only three quarters of an hour last year against Halep already in the eighth, took a resounding revenge by eliminating the number one seed in straight sets (6-1, 6 -2). 

Favorite Simona Halep, 2nd in the world and seeded N.1, was swept away in the round of 16 at Roland Garros on Sunday by young Iga Swiatek (54th) in two sets 6-1, 6-2 and in 1h08.

A dazzling revenge for the Polish 

The 19-year-old Pole, who lasted only three quarters of an hour last year against Halep already in the eighth, took a resounding revenge.

For his first quarter-final in Grand Slam, Swiatek will face Kiki Bertens (8th) or Martina Trevisan (159th).
