  • The Girondins won 3-0 against Dijon on the 6th day of Ligue 1.

  • Rémi Oudin and Samuel Kalu, scorers, were the main architects of Bordeaux's first home victory of the season.

  • Jean-Louis Gasset hopes this is just the start for them.

Quickly done well done !

The Girondins can (finally) "savor" their first victory of the season at home thanks to a clear and flawless success (3-0) against Dijon.

This allows the Bordelais not to fall into doubt and especially to go back to the first part of the Ligue 1 table before the international break.

This victory, expected against the red lantern of the championship, is to the credit of two men in particular.

Two of the three scorers: Rémi Oudin and Samuel Kalu.

The two Bordeaux wingers were decisive as emphasized by Jean-Louis Gasset, their coach:

“We asked them to hit the sides.

They each scored one goal which will do them a lot of good because it is not their main characteristic to score.

I insist a lot with them on that because they are barely enough when they each have a very good ball strike.

"

It was Rémi Oudin who hit the first on an off-center free kick (1-0, 12th).

The former Reims, who we had seen more defending than attacking since the start of the season, managed a full match.

Just technically, he could even have ended up with one or two more assists if young England striker Josh Maja had been more skillful.

Carried from post to post since his arrival in Gironde last January, Rémi Oudin will now have to confirm as his team in the coming weeks against much stronger opponents (Marseille, Monaco, Rennes or Paris).

2nd period less successful than the 1st ... but the @girondins' 1st victory at home since December 3, 2019 with 3 goals (finally!) And 🍒 on the 🍰 a new clean sheet.

Given the upcoming calendar (OM, Nîmes, ASM, Montpellier, Rennes, PSG ...), it was better not to miss ...

Kalu regains legs

For Samuel Kalu, it is definitely a form of rebirth.

The hard-hitting Nigerian, who had gradually lost the confidence of Paulo Sousa, had a very complicated summer: "When I arrived (on August 10), he was coming out of Covid-19, he had not done the preparation, he had not played a friendly match… We have to give time to time except that we were a bit busy because the championship started immediately, ”recalls his new coach, Jean-Louis Gasset.

Suddenly, he started the season on the bench before grabbing a few minutes, scoring in Lens and finally starting in two last games.

Against Dijon, the Girondins have seen Samuel Kalu from his beginnings.

"We know his qualities very well," explains Swiss defender Loris Benito, "he is a one-on-one player so we try to let him isolate so that he can play his duel."

And wins it as on the second Bordeaux goal (2-0, 29th).

Today, Samuel Kalu is quite simply the club's top scorer with Toma Basic (two goals), author of the third goal at the end of the game against the Burgundians (3-0, 89th).

After the match won by the #Girondins against Dijon (3-0), Jean-Louis Gasset returned to the good performance of Rémi Oudin and Samuel Kalu, both scorers.

But beware, as with Rémi Oudin, this should only be the beginning of something.

We should not count on Jean-Louis Gasset to be satisfied with a match: “They have to manage to score many more goals because today, when we take stock of their career, it is insufficient.

" At work !
