A press release said: “The Dubai Sports Council’s Control Officers' teams, in cooperation with Dubai Economy, issued six warning alerts to some facilities and individuals due to the gatherings during their inspection visits, and the violating sports facilities were distributed in several areas in various parts of Dubai, namely: Rashidiya, Al Muraqabat , Raqqa, Nad Al Hamar, Al Tawar, Al Qusais and Port Said, and the reasons for the violations of the violating establishments for which financial fines were imposed varied between failure to wear masks and non-commitment to social distancing.
The statement read: “The efforts made by the Dubai Sports Council in cooperation with the Dubai Economy have resulted in an increase in awareness among individuals and sports facilities, which contributed to a significant decrease in the number of violating establishments, after the number of facilities that were violated in the first week reached nine, and it was done. Three of them were closed, and 35 facilities were alerted. After that, the number decreased to six violations and 10 facilities were alerted.
The council’s statement said: “The work team of disciplinary officers at the Dubai Sports Council continues to carry out inspections and monitoring in coordination with the Dubai Economy, to ensure the accurate and continuous application of precautionary measures and not to be complacent in implementing all the instructions included in the protocol for each facility and sport. The past period has conducted media campaigns through its official channels on social media to spread awareness of the importance of adhering to the protocols that it has laid down in cooperation with the official authorities, including the precise and detailed instructions it contains for each sports facility.
The Dubai Sports Council appreciated the commitment of the vast majority of private clubs, sports facilities and training centers to apply the precautionary measures set by the High Committee for Crisis and Disaster Management in Dubai and the protocol sent by the Dubai Sports Council to all sports institutions for the accurate implementation of the series of measures in a manner that preserves the safety of everyone.
