Michel Cadot -

P.Magnien / 20 Minutes

Michel Cadot will take the place of Jean Castex, but obviously not at Matignon.

The interministerial delegate to the Olympic and Paralympic Games and former prefect of Ile-de-France was appointed president of the National Sports Agency (ANS) on Wednesday at the end of its general assembly.

He will therefore sit in the chair of the current Prime Minister, who was also an interministerial delegate to the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Agency is holding its general assembly today.

On the proposal of ministers @jmblanquer and @RoxaMaracineanu, the administrators elected their new president.

Created a little over a year ago, in April 2019, the ANS is financed by appropriations from the Ministry of Sports, and brings together the State, local authorities, the sports movement and business representatives.

She takes care of both high level and sport for all.

An extension of 120 million euros

The Agency has just received an extension of 120 million euros, as part of the government recovery plan, to help the clubs hardest hit by the Covid-19 crisis since mid-March.

Out of the global envelope of 120 million planned over two years, 40 million euros will be dedicated to employment for associations, 50 million intended for the energy transition of sports equipment and 30 million reserved for clubs and sports federations, including 9 million for their digital development.
