The match of the 3rd day of Ligue 2 between Auxerre and Clermont, on September 12 at the Abbé-Deschamps stadium, can be played in front of 7,000 spectators after the exemption granted by the prefect of Yonne to the gauge of 5,000, a announced Friday the Auxerrois club.

“This positive news is the result of a great deal of work carried out by the AJA teams in collaboration with the Yonne prefecture and the State services during the two official meetings organized in August at the Abbé-Deschamps: the final of the French Cup of women's football PSG-OL and the match of the 1st day of L2 Auxerre-Sochaux ”, rejoices AJ Auxerre.

Several hundred members of the nursing staff of the Auxerre hospital center as well as their relatives will be notably invited to this match, specifies the club.

The Professional Football League "welcomed this decision" in a statement released Saturday morning.

“This exception to the 5,000-person tonnage is a first for professional championships.
