The Beaujoire stadium, almost empty. - HB / 20 minutes

  • For the Canaries' first home game against Nîmes, 5,000 people will be allowed to enter the Beaujoire enclosure.
  • The club has given priority to its subscribers.
  • Friday, the ticket office, open to the general public, was struggling to take off.

For a year and a half, the Nantes-Nîmes match has finally never been a match like any other. Two years ago, on February 10, 2019, the Beaujoire was sold out for the arrival of the Crocs and especially to pay tribute to Emiliano Sala, who died ten days before in a plane crash. On March 14, it was a Nantes-Nîmes which had been canceled and which had marked the total cessation of the championship for the Canaries, before confinement. Sunday, at 3 p.m., for the reception of Nîmes, the Canaries will have to play their first L1 match at La Beaujoire with only a gauge of 5,000 people (players, staff and officials included), health context requires. Who will be the 5,000 people present on Sunday in the Nantes enclosure?

3,700 places for the general public

The club has chosen to give priority to subscribers. The faithful had priority access to the ticket office for this meeting and this will be the case for future matches if the gauge remains at 5,000 people. They had to buy a ticket because their membership card is not enough. Since Thursday, the ticket office was then open to the general public. In all, 3,700 places were therefore reserved for supporters.

Friday, according to information from 20 Minutes , the ticket office was having a hard time taking off and it was rumored that at least 2,000 tickets had still not found a taker ...

In the meantime, all supporters will be obliged to remain in a seated position and will be separated by a seat. It will be possible to be in a group but up to ten people. In the Loire stand, the guardrails have been removed so as not to obstruct the view of the spectators who will be in a seated position. The mask will be compulsory during all the presence at the stadium, from 11 years old. Hydroalcoholic gel will be available upon entering the stadium.

… And 800 VIPs / partners

Same instructions for the 800 VIPs / partners. This gives a ratio of 83% tickets for spectators and 17% for VIPs / partners (ratio of 80-20 per year). Lyon, for example, decided to make 67% of its places available to the general public and 33% for VIPs, for its match this Friday against Dijon. A week ago, the Gironde prefecture decreed the closure of the lodges. A decision approved by the club, which wanted to favor its faithful anyway.

The FCN has chosen to distribute all these small people (general public and VIP) over the four open stands (Jules Verne stand closed).

And 500 other people

"The number remains to be refined, but there should be around 500 people to work on the meeting ...", we whisper to the FCN. Among this half a thousand: stewards, TV technicians, catering staff, hostesses, rescuers, gardeners, maintenance staff, journalists (around thirty), and of course officials (delegates, referees etc.), players, technical staff and managers of both clubs. During the game, only the players on the pitch, the two head coaches and the three referees may remove their masks. As well as radio and TV journalists.

Between 200 and 250 stewards will be present to do as much prevention and information as possible. "The behavior of the spectators at this meeting will necessarily affect future requests for an increase in tonnage from the prefecture," warns the FCN. If there was a flagrant non-compliance with health measures, we are not immune to the prefect playing our matches behind closed doors. "

Street vendors absent

The Loire-Atlantique prefecture has decided to ban the presence of street vendors on Sunday near the Beaujoire. There will therefore be no stand, no refreshment bar. The club's refreshments, located in the corridors of the stadium, will have a smaller offer (only packaged drinks and confectionery).
