After a break of almost six months, Chelsea finally got to rejoice for real today when English football started again. Both Magdalena Eriksson and Jonna Andersson were entrusted to start at Chelsea, which won the Women's Super League in June when the league was canceled.

The first half ended goalless and in the second it was Chelsea and especially the defender Millie Bright who took command. From a distance of 40 meters, she pulled in with a perfect long shot that found its way into the crossbar. Manchester City then chased an equalizer but had to end the match with one player less as Jill Scott was sent off after his second yellow card.

At the end of the match, Erin Cuthbert decided, 2-0 to Chelsea, who got a dream start to the season. Next weekend the league game starts for Magdalena Eriksson and Jonna Andersson when Chelsea meets Manchester United.
