The final of the Champions League will be played Sunday evening between PSG and Bayern Munich. On the eve of this historic meeting, the French authorities are doing everything they can to avoid overflows and possible clusters that could emerge in the event of crowds.

The Paris prefecture in particular took a major decision on Saturday: from 9 p.m. no car will be able to circulate on the avenue des Champs-Elysées.

The goal, according to the Paris police chief, is that everyone can fill the space, while respecting social distancing. This is an exceptional device, normally reserved for New Year's Eve parties. 17 metro stations will also be closed. Around the Champs-Elysées, the perimeter of compulsory mask wearing will be extended and 2,000 masks will be distributed. The Minister of the Interior promises a "systematic verbalization" if this obligation is not respected. 

3,000 police and gendarmes mobilized

3,000 police and gendarmes will be mobilized in the area, but also near the Parc des Princes, which will welcome 5,000 supporters for a broadcast of the meeting. Two hours after the end of the final, whether PSG win or not, everything must be finished. The gathering will be totally prohibited and the police will carry out evacuations ...

Another device is also planned to regulate the return of players to betting. To welcome them, the prefect of police is considering a gathering limited to 5,000 supporters on Monday evening.
