Despite Bournemouth defeating Everton 3-1 away, it was not enough to stay in the English Premier League.
Aston Villa had a three-point lead over Bournemouth and when team captain Jack Grealish scored 1-0 in the 84th minute, the matter was, more or less, clear. West Ham did manage to equalize but it was not enough to help the South Coast team stay.
Watford, who were on the same score as Aston Villa before the final round, had the chance to step over Villa but fell 2-3 away against Arsenal. Just Arsenal managed to defeat Aston Villa in the last round and thus became directly decisive.
Watford lost the last three games of the season and thus a Premier League place.
Norwich have already been checked out and will return to the Championship next season.
