The surface of football events in Jordan has surfaced with a crisis of statements between the two rivals Al-Faisaly and Al-Wehdat, which has sparked widespread controversy between fans of the two clubs on social media, despite the suspension of the Jordan League due to the Corona pandemic (Covid 19), and is due to return to life next August.
The first spark between the two clubs started from a statement by the President of Units Bashar Al-Hawamdeh, which was considered a decrease in the size of his team's competitors for the league title, by saying to the Jordanian newspaper “Ruya”: “There is no real competitor for the units this season,” which provoked Al-Faisali fans, especially as their team held last season’s title And the most crowning of the competition (34 titles) since the dawn of the Jordanian championships in 1944, compared to 16 titles for units that appeared for the first time in the Jordanian league in 1980.
Al-Faisaly club responded to its official account on Facebook: "We will leave the statements to others, because tournaments only come through work and perseverance, and if the tournaments only came with statements, our treasures would not be overflowing with local and Asian tournaments."
Al-Faisali fans pride themselves on winning two continental championships by crowning the AFC Cup champion in 2005 and 2006, while the units did not win an Asian championship, and most of the contradictions of the fans of both teams are concentrated in the communication sites on this controversy.
At a time when observers considered the Hawamdeh statement a provocation, the head of the units had a different view, as he appeared during May of last year in a video saying: "In football, the most beautiful thing is the sporting competitions that bring the fans back to the stadium," and he sent a message to my administrator Al-Faisaly Thamer Al-Adwan: "Do not dream of heroics from the day of the horoscope."
The Jordanian football season started late this season in the defensive shield competition, whose title went to units after a high technical performance led by the national coach Abdullah Abu Zamaa, while only one round of the league championship took place before stopping because of Corona.
In return, Al-Faisaly leads the national coach, Haitham Al-Shboul, who took over during the quarantine period and prepares for the campaign to defend the league title.
