Fourth Chelsea Premier League striker Callum Hudson-Odoi announced on Saturday that he was acquitted by police of rape.

The 19-year-old international striker, who was arrested on May 17 and then released on bail, said on his Twitter account that he had "fully cooperated with the police" and waited quietly for his "acquittal."

"In this period when more important things happen in the world, I want you to know where are the serious accusations that made me suspect," the player wrote to his 287,000 followers on Twitter.

"After a serious and thorough investigation, the police confirmed to me that the file was closed without follow-up," he said, thanking all the people who "supported me during this difficult period."

Hudson-Odoi has fully recovered after he was the first Premier League player to contract the newly born Coronavirus early March.

Hudson had met the young girl who accused him of rape on the Internet, and in violation of the government-spaced social protocol, he sent her a car to take her to his home.
