The Austrian authorities announced today that they are developing a plan to resume the first division of football in early June, after being suspended since mid-March, due to the outbreak of the new Coruna virus.

"As far as the timetable is concerned, if the full exercises are returned on May 15th, I assume we can continue the tournament in the first week of June," Football League president Christian Eppenbauer told a news conference.

The clubs are expected to resume their exercises next Friday, after allowing them to take part in exercises with fewer players, while the matches will be held without fans.

Players will undergo regular checks for the "Covid-19" virus. In the event of any positive results, the member of the relevant team will be subjected to quarantine for a period of 14 days, and the rest of the members will be subjected to tests. The official launch date for the league has not been decided.

"RB Salzburg" will face Austria's Lustenau team in the second-tier in the final of the cup competition, which may be held at the end of May.
Ten stages remain until the end of the league competition, with Lask Lins leading 3 points from Salzburg, crowned the title in the last 6 seasons. The number of people infected with the virus in Austria reached 15,892, with 623 deaths and 14,148 cures. The country, with a population of 8.8 million, was one of the first countries to reduce closures in mid-April, and has not yet seen a significant increase in casualties after the restrictions were eased.
