Sweden's gentlemen therefore plan to participate in two World Cups in one season and this affects the elite series clubs.

- We have a great understanding of associations that get a changed preseason and what comes with it. We have not been unaffected by the associations' negative attitude to playing two World Cups the same season, but it must be weighed against our responsibility in the international band and that we are facing a unique situation in a prevailing pandemic, says Håkan Sjösten.

The economy of the Swedish Bandy Association is one reason why Sweden chooses to participate in both world championships.

- A very important aspect of the decision is that the revenue from the men's World Cup creates an economic and organizational foundation for all other FIB tournaments, such as women's and youth tournaments, says Sjösten.
