It's been stormy weeks in the Swedish Motor Sports Association. SVT Sport has revealed that the board went to the Indy car finals for the members' money. The trip cost SEK 300,000 and the auditor suggested that the board should not be given discharge. Criticism has also come from several districts and yesterday Lars Pettersson, chairman, announced that he is leaving. Yesterday, Vice President Daniel Nyman also announced that he is not running for re-election as he first thought.

- When the auditors have a criticism then it is justified, and this is known in all companies. When that happens, something is not good. And I think Lars (Pettersson, chairman) makes the right decision as there has been a lot of criticism and focus. Then it's time to step aside so the focus will be on the sport again, says motor legend Kenneth Hansen to SVT Sport.

Criticism for alcohol notes

As of Monday, SVT was able to tell that the auditor criticized the board and the general secretary for alcohol notes and that members had to pay part of the relatives' costs of the trip.

- After all, the auditors criticized the costs of the alcohol trip. They usually do not have criticism if it is not justified, says Kenneth Hansen and continues:

- I think it can be good to make such trips, meet stables and pave the way where you show that the Swedish Motor Sports Association is on the rise. But it is clear that you have to choose trips that are balanced in terms of spending.
