All sports have been paused during the ongoing corona pandemic. The Madrid Open would normally run from May 1-10, but this year it will instead be an E-tournament, where 16 ladies and 16 gentlemen will participate online from their homes.

The tournament starts on Monday and runs from April 27-30.

Now that the groups have been drawn, we can see that it will be a great matchup directly: Andy Murray against Rafael Nadal. The groups consist of four players and the top two then go to the quarterfinals.

The Spanish have 17-7 on the tennis court.

On the women's side, we can look forward to meeting Elina Svitolina and Johanna Konta.

The first prize of just over SEK 1.63 million will be distributed to players on the tour who are having a hard time financially during the pandemic. An additional SEK 550,000 will go to victims of the covid-19 disaster.
