Lazio president Claudio Loteto believes that the financial importance of soccer in Italy is the main reason that will allow the resumption of the Italian League during the Corona virus epidemic.

The virus hit Italy hard, two months ago the country was closed, and football was suspended along with many other events.
"We are a big industry which pumps 1.2 billion euros (1.1 billion dollars) into the state treasury every year," Lotito said.
He added: "And then there are contributions made by football to other sports. The Italian Olympic Committee is funded by 460 million euros, where football generates billions of income."
Twenty clubs active in the first division, who are reported to have lost 700 million euros if the season is canceled, are awaiting the government's response on a training resumption plan after the country's closure was closed on May 3.
Teams will begin training in isolation in designated camps, with the remaining 12 rounds taking place without the audience attending in late May or early June.
Luteto had announced earlier this month that the Lazio stadium in "Formello" had been completely sterilized and ready, while the Italian Federation had presented a protocol for the government to train safely.
Lazio, who are second in the table, a point behind leaders Juventus, are officially supporting the league's resumption.
"Unfortunately, the league was suspended on March 9th, at a time when we were at our best both physically and mentally.
The Brescia, Sampdoria and Turin teams are against the resumption of the league, although the Italian League reported last Tuesday that they had reached an agreement unanimously ," Lotito said .
