The message comes as a result of the Dutch government's decision earlier on Tuesday that the ban on major public events be extended by three months to September 1 due to the corona pandemic.
KNVB announces that the formal decision will be preceded by discussions with Uefa, the European Football Association.
“The Professional Football Committee intends not to resume the 2019-20 season. KNVB will consult with Uefa and after that a decision will be made ”, the Dutch Football Association writes in a statement.
Belgium has previously issued the same message, but the final decision has been postponed twice due to discussions with Uefa.
