Ida Marko-Varga had really stopped swimming but the craving came back and at the SM last year she made a comeback. After a fine form message, the 34-year-old chose to bet against the Tokyo Olympics, which would be her fifth Olympics.

But then came the corona crisis and in March came the message that the championship was postponed for a year.

- I am pretty much affected by the fact that the Olympics have been postponed. I only have sponsors until August and I agreed with my club until the summer. I depend on these parts to be able to make an Olympic bet, Ida Marko-Varga tells Kvällsposten.

The Corona crisis has hit the economy hard and the Swedish swimmer says there is a concern that companies should not have the opportunity to invest in sponsorship.

"It remains to be seen if companies are willing to support me for another year," she says.

But it is not just sponsorship that influences her decision.

- For me, it's about motivation too. After all, I've gotten a little older.

Right now, she is awaiting and sees how things are going towards the 202 Olympics. She hopes to have landed in a decision sometime during the summer.
