Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen, 33, won his last World Cup competition in Val di Fiemme this winter. But now there will be no more VC victories because she decided to quit. Uhrenholdt Jacobsen has during his career won one Olympic gold in relay and two World Championship gold in relay and one individual sprint gold.

Instead, she will invest in the civilian career as she studied physicians alongside skiing. And now she is praised by former teammate Marit Björgen.

- Astrid has very good values and she is a good role model. She has stood up for what she believed in, Marit Björgen tells TV 2 and continues:

- Astrid was very clear and she could put you in place so you sometimes became a little speechless. I could be scared of hurting people while Astrid was very clear. She meant nothing wrong with that, and it was good with someone on the team who was clear about what she meant and stood for.

Heidi Weng also paid tribute to Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen:

“Thank you for many wonderful memories. Good luck with your new everyday life. I take off your hat for you, ”she writes on Instagram.
