"We have been told that all events with more than 5,000 people will be banned until October 24," the travel organizer writes in a statement.
Berlin's marathon is considered one of the fastest races in the world, thanks in large part to the relatively flat course and the fact that it is usually good "running weather".
There is no information on when the marathon might be going instead.
