"Footballers have many facilities, but we must not stop thinking about everything that is not material. And more at my age. We must worry about what is really important." Bruno Iglesias is 16 years old and plays as a midfielder for Real Madrid Youth. He is also the youngest footballer to join the solidarity movement promoted by Juan Mata and called the Common Goal , now rooted in the fund that will help combat the immediate effects of the coronavirus, especially in vulnerable and conflict areas. Iglesias, like other great sports personalities, will donate 1% of his salary to the cause.

"It is a great opportunity for me to join this group of people and contribute my grain of sand. For me it is something that is closely linked to education," says Iglesias, Salamanca and Spanish U17 international.

The Goal-COVID19 Response Fund is being articulated through 139 community organizations in 90 countries, in order to provide assistance to the most disadvantaged areas. Especially where the pandemic will lead to mass displacement, hunger, and violence.

"This moment confirms that the youngest also want to use sports as a tool to change the world," says Manchester United footballer Juan Mata in relation to the accession of Bruno Iglesias.

The Common Goal movement was created in 2017 and brings together around 150 professional footballers and coaches, such as Megan Rapinoe, Jürgen Klopp or even former players like Eric Cantona. The group aspires, in the long term, to achieve that 1% of the money generated by the soccer industry, estimated at 50,000 million euros, is destined to improve society.
