Brigitte Henriques was the guest of Lionel Rosso on Europe 1, Saturday evening. In charge of the development of women's football, the vice-president of the French Football Federation confirmed that the season of the Women's First Division could also be stopped due to the coronavirus health crisis.

Its fate in the face of the coronavirus crisis is linked to UEFA. The Women's Division 1 has, for the time being, been maintained by the French Football Federation, as has Ligue 1 and League 2. These national competitions, however, depend on the European body, which is to meet on April 23. "We have two clubs (Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyonnais, editor's note) qualified for the semi-finals. We are waiting," said Brigitte Henriques, vice-president of the FFF, at the microphone of Europe 1. "That said, the FFF will not take any risk and it is clear that over the period of deconfinement, uncertainty persists on the modalities. The female D1 is pending."

The boss of Paris FC hopes to stop competitions

Brigitte Henriques also recalls that "what determines the resumption of competitions is the Covid 19 and the fight against the pandemic", adding: "We have to adapt, we keep doing that in our decisions. is suspended on what is happening in the fight against the pandemic. All employees are mobilized on crisis cells, our president (Noël Le Graët) is on all fronts. " A complex, but not isolated, situation. "It's not complicated for women's football, but for society as a whole. We are trying to develop the economic resources of this female D1, we will be very attentive to what will happen."

Also questioned by Europe 1, the boss of Paris FC Pierre Ferracci, is meanwhile more affirmative: "It's been a month since I asked that the hypothesis of stopping competitions be examined. I hope that we switch to the same decision as the Federation, which is wise. What matters is the health issue, "claims Pierre Ferracci. The leader of the Parisian club drives home the point: "When we offer to our restaurants, our hotels, our cafes to remain closed until July 15, I do not see how football, which is a contact sport, I say of contacts, will be able to maintain the distances that are imposed on all these economic categories. I don't think it is possible to train, and all the more reason to play in these conditions, I hope that the reason will prevail. "
