"A psychological challenge"

The record was previously held by the American Esther Lofgren, member of the Olympic champion eight team in 2012 in London. "It is a psychological challenge, because you are alone, you do not have your team with you," said Lucy Benjamin, spokeswoman for the Australian rowing federation.

"World record or not, I just wanted to distance myself to stay in shape," Georgie Rowe told ABC. When she realized that she was in record time, she was taken from a doubt about the exact distance to travel: 21.097 or 21.0975 kilometers? When in doubt, it pushed to 21,098.
