It was in November last year that Peters was forced to resign after allegations of both racism and physical abuse against Aliu ten years ago.
"Although it was a single incident that I immediately regretted, I take responsibility for what I said," he wrote in an apology before resigning.
Peters was not the only coach forced out of the NHL after similar accusations.
Also, head coach Mike Babcock was kicked out of Toronto and in retrospect came several testimonies of how he used physical abuse and pure terror against players, including Johan Franzén and told how badly he was treated by Babcock during his time in Detroit.
