It's a new reality for athletes around the world. Instead of a SHL playoff game right now, players have for a month been forced to find other ways to keep going when corona makes everyday life look completely different.

- You can take it easy, is very much at home. But still trying to keep going so I'm here and running. Then I play some paddle and badminton with the poles, says Alexander Holtz to SVT Sport.

"You have dreamed about it"

For Alexander Holtz, it is not just a missed opportunity for a gold medal with Djurgården that the pandemic has brought. It is also a dream that would come true, but now it seems to be completely different. For the NHL draft that was due in Montreal June 26 has been postponed, and a new date has not yet been set. And if it feels really bad, it will be an emergency solution where the drift is done remotely.

- You dreamed about it when you were little to step out on stage and put on one of the NHL teams jerseys. Obviously it is a bit boring if it would not get rid of.

"The most important thing is what you do after the draft"

Holtz is highly ranked for the draft and is top ten in most lists. But even though it is something he has been looking forward to for a long time, and also seems to be one of the first to step up on stage, he realizes that it is a more important fight that awaits after he has been drafted.

- It is fun. Obviously you want to go as early as possible. But the most important thing is what you do after the draft and what the NHL team sees in one's characteristics. That the team believes in one and that one gets to play their game, that I get to do what I'm good at.

Acclaimed by the NHL buddy

And anyone who thinks Alexander Holtz will be able to make it all the way to the NHL is training buddy Jesper Bratt, who plays everyday in the New Jersey Devils, in the NHL.

- It's an incredibly humble guy who works hard. An incredibly talented player who will have a great name in the future and really be a leading player in an NHL team, Bratt tells SVT Sport.
