30-year-old Joe Cannata was seen by many as an insecure card when he left North America for the first time last year to play with all-Swedish Björklöven.

But the American, who during the last seasons in the US mostly played in the third league ECHL, made great success and was chosen as the series' best goalkeeper when Björklöven set a new scoring record in the series.

Two-year Contract

Now it is clear that he is leaving the club, which lost the chance to go up to SHL when the season was canceled due to the corona pandemic. Today, Oskarshamn announced that they have signed a two-year contract with Cannata.

- Oskarhamn showed his interest early and I got a very good picture of the club. For example, I have talked to Alex (Hutchings) since he has played in the club before. He just said good things and after talking with my agent and Thomas (Fröberg) there wasn't really much more to do than write, he says on the club's website.
