The Spanish Football Federation president, Luis Rubiales, has put the national team hotel and some of the union's employees at the disposal of health authorities to help fight the spread of the Coruna virus.

Spain is currently experiencing the second largest number of deaths in Europe after Italy, with the number of corona deaths reaching 3434 and injuries exceeding 47 thousand confirmed cases.

"We have put the National Team Hotel at the disposal of the authorities for use as a hospital and also for the residence of health workers, and we have also put some of our medical teams and physiotherapists at the disposal of the health authorities," Rubiales told a news conference.

The authorities in Madrid thanked Real Madrid club on Tuesday after "donating a large amount" to help fight Corona, while Commander Sergio Ramos and his wife donated 264,000 masks and 15,000 devices to conduct virus detection tests through the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

Barcelona striker Lionel Messi also donated 1 million euros to help fight the virus. The Argentine star’s donation is divided between a hospital in Barcelona and another medical center in his country.

Rubiales has also pledged to provide financial aid to the most needy clubs, whose revenues have been badly affected by the outbreak of the virus that caused the suspension of sports activity in Spain indefinitely.
