It's no easy job waiting for the IOC and the rest of the sports world. The calendar for the next year will be fully subscribed with championships, tournaments and series canceled or postponed due to the corona crisis.
Two other championships in major summer sports that will need to be moved are the Sim World Cup in Japan and the Athletics World Cup in the USA, both of which will be decided in July and August next year. Both organizers have announced that they are set to move the competitions if required to hold an Olympic Games.
The promise from the IOK and the organizer in Tokyo is that the games will be held by the summer of 2021.
