The corona crisis causes the Swedish football clubs to lose a lot of revenue. That's why AIK Fotboll announced today that they are implementing short-term permits. The association writes on their website that every member of the club is usually laid off at 60 percent for at least one month, starting April 1.

- The purpose of the short-term permits is to adapt our business to the reality that exists here and now and with a future that is very uncertain. I am incredibly proud of the team spirit that our organization has shown and the goodwill of our employees and players. Being able to do this in common circumstances under prevailing circumstances feels very good, says AIK Fotboll AB's acting CEO Håkan Strandlund on the club's website.

"Important for everyone to contribute"

Team captain Henok Goitom says it was given for the players to line up.

- In the position that the club is in, it is important that everyone contributes. As players, we have discussed what we can do, we know that we are at a great cost to the club, especially now that we cannot play matches, and it felt obvious to all of us in the men's team to do what we can to ease it. the cost, he says.

The women's team is not covered by the layoffs as the business for them is still ongoing to a full extent.

Short-term leave means that the employee goes down in working hours for a period, while the state intervenes and provides financial support. Employees may retain a large part of their regular salary.
