“The Russian Hockey Federation regrets the cancellation of the tournament, but understands the need for such a decision by the IIHF, since safety and human health is the highest value. FHR thanks the fans, players, coaches, everyone who prepared for the tournaments and supported the team. The FHR hopes that part of the canceled tournaments, for example, the Junior World Cup, will be postponed, ”the FHR said.
The federation also assured that the Russian national hockey teams will continue to prepare for the next international starts, including the Olympic Games in 2022.
Previously, the IIHF canceled the 2020 World Cup due to the coronavirus.
