Coronavirus Infectious Disease-19 (Corona19), a Swiss professional football team that was closed for business, fired athletes who did not meet their annual salary cuts.

On the 21st (Korea time), the BBC online version of the British broadcaster reported that FC Sion of the Swiss Super League (1st league) fired 9 players at once.

According to the BBC, Sion, financially difficult to stop the league due to Corona19, demanded a cut in his salaries.

When some players didn't meet the demands, Sion fired them.

Nine of them, including Alex Song and Joan Zuru from Arsenal, and midfielder Faytim Kasami, who played for Fulham, became 'unemployed'.

Sion currently ranks 8th among the 10 remaining Super League teams.

The Swiss Super League was suspended on the 1st of this month as the Swiss government banned the gathering of more than 1,000 people to prevent corona19.
