The head of the French Football Federation, Noel Loughre, has asked the heads of the Lyon and Marseille clubs not to contest the idea of canceling the competition due to the Corona virus.

The season was halted indefinitely, as the French authorities sought to limit the rapid spread of the virus, as the country recorded 4,499 cases and 91 deaths as of last Saturday.

"I ask them to calm down and show sophistication," Lugri said on Sunday, in a television interview.

The president of Leon Jean-Michel Olas said, the competition must be canceled while ensuring European seats for the same clubs that qualified for the continental competitions the 2019-2020 season.

Lyon, who beat Juventus 1-0 in the first leg of the Champions League final, is seventh in the French League, ten points behind Rennes, who finished last in the elite club.

Marseille, absent from the Champions League this season, is second, ahead of Rennes.

"When his fever goes down, he will see Jean-Michel Olas, his ugliness and he will quickly return to the principles that made him a great football manager," Marseille president Jacques Henri-Aero told the Journal de Dimanche.

"It is good for you and your followers that absurdity is not as deadly as Corona," Olas replied via Twitter.

Loughri stressed that the two presidents have no influence on how to deal with the situation.

He explained that "the French Federation is the only concerned authority that will determine the future. Do not waste your time and do not be ridiculous. Today we fight the virus and there is another struggle over who plays in Europe ?! This is foolishness."
