A World Cup bronze in law, a World Cup victory in a parallel grand slalom and three more podium places in the World Cup.

31-year-old Matts Olsson has had a long and successful career. But now it's over. He has decided to stop driving.

- I'm pretty comfortable with the decision to quit, so it feels exciting, he says SVT Sport.

Why did you make that decision?

- Last year I had those thoughts. But then I thought it would be exciting to go a little more relaxed for a year and see what could happen, but I have known - from a very early age - that hunger has disappeared and the motivation to do what it takes to achieving the results you want is no longer there.

- So from here on out, I think it would just be a negative spiral.

Unclear future

He made the final decision now that the winter season ended, but he has long known where it barked.

- I've known the situation for a very long time, really from the first race, unfortunately. So it probably hasn't made the season any easier.

What happens now he does not know. Not even the nearest time.

- That is a good question. There are some special times now, too ... But when I can release this, I hope I can release my thoughts a bit and get creative. So I hope that, for the first time, I can feel for and test a little different and find my way and see what I can fit that. So hopefully things will end well, but I have no big plans right now, he says.
