According to Tobias Hellman, André Myhrer, despite having meant a lot to Swedish skiing, is a sports profile that has gone a little under the radar.

- Seen to Swedish riders through the ages, André Myhrer is highly ranked in world cup merits. And then he took the Olympic gold in slalom (2018 in Pyeongchang), that was how big.

"He has always fought back"

Throughout his career, André Myher - perhaps in the footsteps of his predecessor Ingemar Stenmark - has become known for his withdrawn calm and hard work.

- Myhrer has always done that hard work. It has not always been easy, for example he has been drawn with back problems which have been quite problematic, but he has always fought back. His calm stable character has led him throughout his career.

Only the season that has been a clear example of Myhrer's long-term stability, Hellman believes. At the start of the season, for example, he finished second at the Val d'Isère slalom competition.

- The results Myhrer showed at the beginning of the season show tremendous strength. He is running his final season and is in the world top.

Blank without the slalom veteran

In Swedish men's rallying, it has otherwise been thin with Swedish success lately. The fact that Myhrer quit does not make the situation better.

- It will be a void. Without Myhrer at the helm, we basically have no one who can compete up there as the situation looks right now. André has been a leader figure and he has held the Swedish flag high for a long career that has been crowned with an Olympic gold, not many can look back on such a career.
