Due to the corona virus, the United States last week introduced a two-week quarantine for citizens from risk countries such as Italy.

As a result, the Italian Federico Pellegrino's participation during the World Cup final in North America hung loose.

But now the 29-year-old has been told he can compete in North America.

- He's flying to Canada for the Quebec sprint. He will also attend Minneapolis before returning home. No rider from Italy will drive in Canmore, Italian press manager Andrea Facchinetti told SVT Sport.

"He's the only one"

So he's welcome into the US now? No problem?

- Right now it's okay.

Pellegrino is the only Italian cross-country skier to travel to North America.

- He is the only one who can compete for pallet seats in the last races, says Facchinetti.

The Swedish cross country team announced on Wednesday that they will relinquish the competitions in Canmore.
