Manchester City's match against Arsenal in the English Premier League was postponed today, Wednesday, due to the London club's dealings with the Greek owner of Olympiacos, who was declared infected with the Corona virus.

Some of Arsenal players met Olympiacos owner Evangelos Marinakis after the two teams played in the second leg of the European Championship's round 32 on 27 February.

On Tuesday, Marinakis, who owns Nottingham Forest, announced that he had been infected with the Corona virus.

Over 116,000 people have been infected with the Corona virus, and more than 4,000 people have died worldwide.

"Manchester City's game against the English Premier League club Arsenal was postponed," City said in a statement.

He continued: "The decision to postpone comes as a precautionary measure according to medical advice after people in Arsenal interacted with Evangelos Marinakis, owner of Olympiacos, who was declared infected with the Covid-19 virus."

Arsenal confirmed that the risk to his players is "very low" but they will follow medical procedures.

"The medical advice we have obtained places the possibility of infection with the Covid-19 virus at a very low level," he added in a statement.

"But we will strictly follow government procedures that recommend that anyone who has contacted the last patient with the virus should undergo individual isolation at home for 14 days from the date of the last contact."

"The players will stay at home until the 14-day period ends. Four Arsenal workers were sitting near Mr. Marinakis during the match and will remain at home until the 14-day period ends."
