On Wednesday evening, the message came that the Alpine World Cup final for the ladies in Åre was canceled. It is a disappointed Anna Swenn-Larsson who received the message during the evening dinner on site in Åre.

- It feels empty and just boring. I wish we could drive, I was very loaded, ”she tells SVT Sport.

Not prepared for the message

The decision to suspend the competitions will, after the government's decision, stop all events with more than 500 people. The World Cup final in Cortina has already been canceled, which made Åre the last race of the season.

Despite this, Swenn-Larsson was fully set to compete this weekend.

- It came completely unexpectedly. I had no idea that it would be canceled, maybe we would run without the audience, but not that it would be canceled, she says.

You can't miss her disappointment at not being able to drive. The form has pointed upwards and she was on her way to a big victory in the last race, when she drove out a few gates before the finish. But she understands the decision.

- I trust those who make decisions, they make the decision they think is best for us riders, she says.

"An amazing season"

Now the World Cup season is over for the alpine riders and Swenn-Larsson may sum up his season earlier than planned.

- I've had a fantastic season. I bring with me a feeling that I can join the absolute summit, she says.
