Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti has been sentenced to indemnify the owners of a house in Esplugues de Llobregat (Barcelona) with 32,936.38 euros for the damage caused therein during the time he was rented.

The court of First Instance and Instruction number 1 of this Barcelona town has condemned the French international to compensate with this amount the owners of the house, who lived without any company until December 3, 2018, according to the sentence to which he has had access EFE.

During the trial, held two months ago, Umtiti had denied causing the damages reported by the plaintiff and declared that, being aware that he had rented a "luxurious house", he hired a cleaning worker and a maintenance person to that the house was always in good condition .

The Barça center, which was accused of causing damage to the furniture, the pool and the parquet floor of the house, among others, had already compensated its owners with 13,814.41 euros, but the court now orders him to pay others 19,121.97 euros for the "damages and losses" caused.

The sentence also condemns the owners of the house to return to Samuel Umtiti the 20,000 euros of bond plus the 60,000 euros of additional guarantee charged to the signing of the contract, once the compensation is deducted, that is, 47,063.62 euros.
