No Top 14 for Semi Radradra until April 15? - Romain Perrocheau / AFP

This Tuesday evening, the meeting is likely to be muscular between the members of the National Rugby League and the club presidents of Top 14 and Pro D2. More and more of them are asking for the freezing of competitions until April 15 in order to limit economic damage after the ban on organizing rallies of more than 1,000 people.

These presidents prefer not to play at all than to play in camera meetings which may cost them dearly. On the front line, we find in particular those of Clermont and Stade Toulousain, two heavyweights. And rallies are increasing in recent hours.

President Bernard Pontneau is in favor of freezing the TOP 14 until April 15. A shift of the TOP 14 over a few weeks could avoid an economic disaster for the clubs.

Weekday matches like football?

If this decision were taken by the LNR, it would concern three days of Top 14 and the quarter-finals of the European Cup (Champions Cup and Challenge Cup). To believe the Olympic Midi , the presidents would offer to play the postponed matches during the week, as in football. Three or even four meetings, depending on whether you are participating in a European competition. Finally, they would also propose removing the dams from the Top 14 as a last resort to win a week.

For the moment, the official line of the NRL remains the same: you have to play, even behind closed doors. She would also think about the best way to compensate the clubs. It has no reserve funds and the hypothesis of a loan is not at all unanimous at the moment. In any case, the NRL should not announce a final decision this Tuesday evening.
