The Norwegian authority writes in a press release that:

"Events that gather many people can be the source of a large spread of infections, both at the event itself and through public transport to and from the event, as well as in the local community when participants have returned home."

Recommendation comes just days after the long competitions in Holmenkollen, which decided in front of empty stands (although some Norwegians had still taken to the trail in the woods).

Will Sweden follow suit?

In addition to outdoor events, the Norwegian Public Health Institute also mentions human collections in theater, opera, cinema and concerts. So the call is to postpone or cancel all events that gather over 500 people - something that, in any case, can hit hard in the Norwegian economy.

The question that remains is whether Sweden will introduce a similar recommendation. Tomorrow, Wednesday, Minister of Culture Amanda Lind will sit down with actors for major public events and the National Sports Federation to discuss how they should act around the corona virus.

At the time of writing, Tuesday March 10, a total of 277 people have been tested positive for corona, 85 of the cases the last day. In comparison, Sweden has 351 confirmed coronary cases at the time of writing.
