American boxing legend Floyd Mayweather has expressed his intention to invest in sports in the English Premier League football by buying Newcastle United.

British press reports said Mayweather, 43, who is visiting England as part of an advertising campaign, told reporters he wanted to buy the club, noting that it was an amazing team, but he stipulated that the club's fans welcome that first.

After 29 rounds, Newcastle is 13th in the English Premier League, with 35 points.

The retired boxer was not defeated in 50 sports, with his average lightweight sport, which made him occupy first place among the legends of the fighting game throughout history according to the classification that was conducted last year.

According to the American magazine Forbes, Mayweather tops the list of top ten athletes in the last decade with a fortune of nearly a billion dollars, surpassing football stars.
