To say the least, it was an intensive introduction to the all Swedish hockey final between Björklöven and Modo.

Within three minutes, both teams had drawn on each other - and Modo's expulsion proved to be costly. "The Leaf" made 1-0 through Fredric Andersson after three minutes of play. Then it took seven minutes before they extended the lead to 2-0 by Alexander Wiklund - also in powerplay.

Match penalty for Modo

In the beginning of the second half there were alternate roles. Modo's Henrik Björklund reduced to 2-1 in powerplay after four minutes of play. Joe Cannata in goal thought he had blocked the puck, but Björklund fished it between the leg guards and poked it into goal

But when the team from Örnsköldsvik started to get a feel for the Umeå team came a cold shower. Kim Rosdahl got a match penalty after first tackling Brian Cooper behind goal and then trampling him on the wicket. And in the subsequent powerplay came 3–1 via a shot from Olle Liss.

Halfway into the period, another reduction came from Modo, this time through Adam Tambellini who made 3-2, but not in powerplay.
