Here is an optimist! The day after its organizers announced the cancellation of the tournament in Indian Wells (California) because of the spread of the new coronavirus in this state, the president of the ATP declared that the calendar of the male tennis for the rest of the year remained "unchanged".

"While we regret that the Indian Wells tournament is not taking place, the schedule for the ATP circuit beyond Indian Wells remains unchanged," said Italian Andrea Gaudenzi in an official statement.

Due to concerns surrounding Coronavirus, the 2020 @BNPPARIBASOPEN will not be held.

An unchanged calendar… For the moment

"We continue to monitor the situation daily, in close collaboration with our players and tournament staff, with the understanding that guidelines must be taken by local public health authorities," said the former 18th world player today 46 years old.

"We are committed to studying all options for the operation of future tournaments, because the health and safety of our players and all other stakeholders remain our top priority," added the official.
