Texas Rangers drummer Willie Calhoun's jaw was fractured after being hit hard at a speed of over 152 km / h on Sunday during a Major League Baseball (MLB) preseason game. The 25-year-old American player was about to return the ball in the first leg of the match against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the suburbs of Phoenix when it was thrown by Mexican Julio Urias under the right cheek.

Instantly fell to the ground on his back, he immediately held his jaw and remained on the ground for about 10 minutes, before being taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, where a fracture was found.

The Rangers, who defeated the Dodgers 9-8, announced after the game that a more detailed evaluation would be released on Monday. "I felt so bad for him because he couldn't say anything and you could tell he was in pain," said Calhoun teammate Joey Gallo, quoted on the League's website.
