The Corona virus has caused great concern for the Tokyo Olympics to be canceled.
- The latest official bid is for the Olympics to be held according to plan, but at the same time there is a lot of speculation about whether it is possible or not. Nobody has the answer to that question, but it looks pretty bleak, says freelance journalist Said Karlsson.
One of Sweden's biggest Olympic jumps is Sarah Sjöström. She still assumes that the Olympics will be lost, but the schedule for the competition has changed. A competition in Milan was canceled and one in Marseille in two weeks is in danger.
- It has not been a disaster so far, that we have had to set up a competition. We hope I can do the races that come. It would be really boring if the Olympics had to be set, but we have to take that then, ”she says.
If the alternatives are to either cancel the Olympics completely or to compete without crowds then Sjöström clearly prefers the latter.
- I don't hear much when I'm in the water anyway. If they can solve it that way then it is the best. I think so.
